  • My Second Last Post

Just found I lost my second last post (don't know why and that's titled "My Mobile Network Provider") That's related to my last post so I try to rewrite it again now.

I was so pissed off by the staff of mobile store bit I still want to switch my current pay & go price plan to a new one which would probably cost only one fifth of my current one, so on the 20th this month, I went to other stores at a different district.

At the first store, the staff said they didn't had this service unless I switch from other networks.
"But I know someone actually did that and I just asked at another store a few days ago and they said they could do it."
"Um... we don't have this service anymore."

At the second store, the staff also said if I switch a price plan I will lost all my credits.
"But I heard you did the transfer once a month and the last time was on 15th or 16th this month." I tried to be as much specific as I could as I wanted to prove I was not making unreasonable request.
"If we switch the plan for you, you will lost all your credits."
"But I asked at another store before and they they can."
Maybe they are the only store can do this...because we count on them to do the switch too." I thought it was more reasonable to be done by the back office but not the store itself.

I went to the third store and they still said they couldn't do it.

So my previous post was basically what'd happened next.

  • My Mobile Network Provider (Again)

After the fails I experienced last time, I went back to the first store to switch my pay & go price plan and transfer my credits.

I explained two times what I wanted before actually reached the counter and being asked again. I asked the staff if there was the only store can do this transfer and they all gave me a no.
"It is the computer system do the transfer, every store can do this."

After explaining I was neither from other networks nor wanted to switch to a monthly contract, they finally understood what I wanted and I still got turned down.
"We do this transfer once grouped a number of application, about once a month, but I still don't know about when is the next time on this month so I can't apply it for you now. You have to come again later."
"It's once a month and normally at the middle on the month, I know this month is done on about 15th or 16th. Can I apply it in advance? I know someone applied it at late September and got transfered at mid October."
"Middle of the month? I haven't been told that. Not even on our briefing book. I can't apply for you now because I have to submit the application form as soon as it's filled but I can't write the transferring date at the moment. It's easy a job, just done by the computer system, don't even need to switch the sim."

*Sigh* If I don't apply in advance, how can you "group" the application form? What if I come next time and you say this month is done again? I know it's easy and that's why I was there.

  • Sim and PUK

Just bought a new phone but didn't want to take away the old phone yet. I heard that you can still use the phone's functions except those needs network service like calling so I took the sim from a very old phone and plugged it in this new phone. Last night I was playing around with the wifi, picture, etc functions and I tried to set the PIN. I couldn't get the right old PIN and after three attemptions it was blocked by the PUK. I realized a got into a big trouble when I got the wrong PUK three times. It said "Contact your network provider to get the PUK" so I phoned the customer centre.

"I got a very old sim of your network blocked by the PUK, is there anyway I can get the code?"
    "What's the phone number?"
    "I can't remember, it's long time ago."
"Can you use it to call a number?"
"No, cause it's expired. (And of course not, it's BLOCKED!) But I see a code on the sim, can I use it to check the PUK?"
"Sorry, it is the system uses the phone number to check."
"Then can I bring the sim to your store to check it?"
    "Yes, have a try."

So I brought the sim to the store today and I was worried that it isn't that easy.

"Did you use your name to register the sim?"
    "This is pay & go."
"I see. When is the last time you use it?"
"Long time ago, probably five or six years ago."
    "Five or six months ago?"
"No, it's five or six YEARS ago."
"FIVE OR SIX YEARS ago? Then it's no way to check it! Why don't you just get a new sim? You can't make phone calls with it anyway."
"Because I want to use some functions like calendar or calculator of a phone that don't need network service but still need a sim."

I regret to tell her the truth as I found she thought I was a weirdo and wanted to cause her trouble and actually I was not.

"Why don't you get a new sim? You can't even remember your number!"

I realized she'd never understand what I wanted, so I ask,
"So there's no way to unlock it?"
"No way." (I bet she was thinking "Go away you weirdo!")
"I see, thank you very much."

Her long face made me even forget I wanted to ask for transferring my another old pay & go sim's credits to a new price plan which only costs one fifth of my current plan!

I want to use that old sim because the company name on it is no longer exist that is value a lot, and simply, it's my old sim.

I know I shouldn't of guessing the PIN for three times in the first place.
